I love the holidays! The rush, the baking, the wrapping, the joy, the family moments and the quiet times to contemplate the ‘why’ behind the season and what that means to me. My favourite time always occurs on Christmas night. Everyone is quietly enjoying their gifts or have gone off to bed. The house is mine. It’s quiet. It’s wonderful.
At that moment, I can’t help but look back and remember all the laughter, all the pain, all of the challenges and changes that can occur in one short year. Even when memories are drawn to those that are no longer here to celebrate the season, there is gratitude for the gift they were to me and a need to pass it forward. To ensure that as I work through my days in the New Year, that my kids, the best thing Jim and I have ever done, know that they were loved beyond all. They have brought so much joy into our lives, that I could write a million blogs and never even come close to sharing every precious moment that has occurred through them in my brief time here on this little blue planet. When you add the wonderful people and partners we are privileged to work with in our business and community life, well, I’m thinking we have everything. I’m happy and I’m exceptionally grateful.
May the holiday season bring you all that is good and more than a little time to contemplate the moments of grace in your life.
